Id love to know the stats for how many posties are self isolating on full pay having lied about having symptoms or saying someone they live with has.
Why would you love to know that?
I'd love to know how many members are still at work with the symptoms putting everybody's health at risk because they're worried their 'colleagues' will call them liars.

And I use colleagues in the loosest possible sense.

Sorry that probably didnt come across the way i was thinking it, ive got nothing at all against anyone who has decided to self isolate! Just mean it would be interesting to know the number, because that might give me the balls to do the same!

To be honest the symptoms are so vague, varied and similar to other respiratory illnesses that you would have to be in perfect health not to feel some of them at this time of year.

It will be interesting to see if/when an antibody test becomes available how many of us guessed right and how many just had flu, a heavy cold or a hangover.

We go on about keeping distance, but you are still going to touch sorted post, door handles, walls, yorks, PDA's, keys etc that many other posties have touched that day/morning anyway.

So it's impossible.

For me I am highly unlikely to die from getting the virus so I just get on with it.

Still got to go out the house now and again to have some enjoyment doing exercise or going to the supermarket so it's just sods law if you get it.

It's the old and vulnerable that need to be extremely careful........Me...I should be fine and no1 will care if I died anyway, so it's all good.

I am sure a lot of people are happy to have money coming in without it meaning they are a manager.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

More details on this please
Ignore that advice please, it's not helpful.

It's no good getting a random sick note because you don't want to go in when you haven't got the symptoms, what happens in a week or so when you may be genuinely ill with it, you would you be the 1st postie in the business to get it twice.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Respect the fact that some are not overly worried and some are.
My wife is making herself ill over this as she's panicking so much, I have to regularly calm her down.
