Covid symptoms

Can anybody help with a quick question?
A young lad at our delivery office has come into work this morning saying that he's got some Covid symptoms and did a home test yesterday and is waiting for the results.
He says that because we're key workers he should still be coming into work until he gets the test results, the Dom has said the same thing.
I thought that everybody should isolate if showing symptoms, is this right?
Can anybody direct me to any written Royal Mail guidance on this?

If you've symptoms, you self isolate immediately only leaving the house to get tested.

If you're in direct contact with someone that has tested positive, you self isolate immediately only leaving the house to get tested.

I believe in both cases, you're supposed to self isolate for 10-14 days even if you get a negative test although don't quote me on that.. but I know a few managers that were off for the full 14 days after being in direct contact with another manager or high up who tested positive even though both of them tested negative after getting a test the 2nd or 3rd day off.

The thing that makes my blood boil about how Royal Mail work is that we have had 2 posties who have now both tested positive for Covid19 and yet we are all expected to carry on business as usual. Those who have worked with them, next to them or walked past them in a section are still expected to turn up for work as usual. However, the local school has a kid that tests positive and the whole year group are sent home to self-isolate. Does our office have super robust social distancing and everyone wearing PPE at work?? Does it b*llocks. The Royal Mail where I work, have and always will, put profits before its people.

Do you use the COVID-19 app the government one? If you did and were less than 2 meters for 20 minutes you would have to self isolate. If you did have the app on and it did not warn you was the app wrong or was it just your phone? If you thing you were less than 2 meters away from someone for 20 minutes why did you not self isolate if they were found out to have the virus? Not having a go at you about this but these are the parameters of the app and social distancing and how long you need to be near someone to get it according to the app. Sorry if all this does not make sense but what does these days Christmas meals for one will be a big seller this year all for one and one for one!

Did all those kids in school have the covid app telling them to self-isolate?? I do have the app but I don't think it's foolproof for the reasons you've mentioned.

One of the reasons why the virus is also spreading is because businesses are remaining open even though some of its staff have tested positive for the virus.

One of the reasons why the virus is also spreading is because businesses are remaining open even though some of its staff have tested positive for the virus.

Most of this is because of pay we need to pay people their working wage for the duration of illness or isolation, But some small business only have one member of staff who is key to the survival of said business but I don't think that would cause a great deal of cases.
