The Way Things Are...

There is, with your criteria, no going back to a normal way of life. This is the beginning of a new order of fascist biopolitics.

This is what it means...

No more schooling, no more libraries, no more museums, no more cinemas, no more sporting events, very limited social interaction, banning children from playing together unsupervised, having everyone entering a public space temperature checked, putting the entire population under surveillance, forcibly confining "high risk" groups, giving the police and medical services the power to summarily incarcerate anyone they suspect of being infected, the replacement of sexual conception and relationships with biotechnological methods of human reproduction...

Not 'temporarily' or until this is over, but indefinitely.

Is this realistically going to happen?

No, because people WILL resist and go bonkers... but people WILL try and make it happen..

And it will be horrible.

Think on
Unfortunately, by using the word 'good' instead of 'well' at the end of your first sentence, you sign-posted that the remainder of your rantings would likely be complete bollocks. It didn't disappoint. :Very Happy

I don't see any problem with people's temperature being checked in various locations. In countries where this was done from the outset they have allegedly had more success in limiting deaths & spread of the virus. There is a fair chance a vaccine will not be invented for this virus. At that point we will just have to accept it as another illness and move on. I think the consensus is generally that there are too many humans on the planet and the reproduction rate is not falling. Maybe it is just 'nature' defending itself although culture and terrible food hygiene is the most likely cause as with previous outbreaks.

The OP may not be that far off the mark. The WHO has just advised that virus may not be defeated and will just have to live with it. MPs are not all happy with the way the track and trace system is being developed and whether it can or will be dismantled at a later date. We all know how things that were meant to be temporary can end up being permanent. Absorption anyone?

I can't see how the tracing will be effective. They need to test ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE first (every single last person in the UK) and close all borders whilst they do so. Mandatory quarantine for anyone entering the country afterwards (don't know if that would be viable for being enforced), otherwise they're potentially going to miss loads that have it, so then the people they've been in contact with won't get traced
