If those selfish people hadn't bloody died we could all go to the pubs.
The figures are in two parts because one is hospital admissions who've tested positive and died and the other is those that have tested positive and died outside of hospital.
They have still not added those that have died without being tested so the true figure is probably a good bit higher.
The thing all these people have in common is they're dead so no, adjusting the figures does not change reality.

No they are saying people may feel more confident if they see other people wearing masks and feel if they do the same they will be OK. There's no evidence to prove wearing a mask will prevent you catching the virus.
The reason RM stopped van shares wasn't out of concern for us it was in case they were found liable for breaching health & safety advice. They won't let van shares start again until they are told it's safe to do so.
I know all DOs are different but we've had masks available for the last couple of weeks. Nobody's wearing them but they're there.
It is ironic that some colleagues were complaining that they weren't being made available, and they should be ...... Now that they are available those same colleagues are horrified at the suggestion that they might have to wear them all day!
Listening to the News today they're suggesting that if the Lock Down was stopped some categories of people (I believe those of a certain age) might still be told to self isolate. I presume this is for their own safety/health? The spokesperson said, "This is discrimination by age .... they are not happy about it .... they are being kept in solitary confinement, and are willing to go to prison over it"! I thought WTF you're not happy about being told to stay at home ... But you're happy to go to prison?
I think a lot of people just like to have something to moan about?

The masks being supplied in our office are the blue surgical type which are useless for Covid 19. They need to be FFP3 masks to be of any use and they are in short supply globally.
The desperation for van share in these times just now ,,, be patient and grow up . Just do the job , and go home . You can dream about it in ure head for now .

They are fine to reduce the momentum of droplets and aerosols and thus reduce the risk of transmission from the wearer to others, which is the point of mass non-medical mask wearing.
Possible reduction of virus transmission of 20%, which would make a reasonable dent in the case numbers and thereby reducing the Ro number.

I don't think van sharing should be reintroduced even with both occupants wearing masks, because the van cab is a very enclosed space, possibly with both windows open and air blowers on to enhance ventilation it may be ok but that would not always be possible in our weather.
I've been wearing a mask to the supermarket, up here it's already government guidance. They are good quality non-clinical masks probably exactly what we're likely to be issued with. but after 20 mins use you're dying to rip it off, they're hot and stifling and fill up with moisture very quickly.
The thought of wearing one during the summer is not something I fancy much. I reckon on a hot day you could go through 50 of them easily so how practical would they be?

It isn't going to be possible to carry on with the restrictions until say September of this year for example otherwise much of the structure of society will be gone. The government is going to have to set a plan into action very soon. They are starting to question the medical experts as to whether the two metre restriction is necessary.

Can see the 2meter restriction lasting till they find a vaccine if they ever do..
With the 2m rule in place it effectively keeps shut loads of shops as customers for 1 shop can't keep 2m apart in the queue for that shop as well as keeping 2m from people queuing for the next shop along without queueing in the road.
In the winter when it's freezing cold, pissing down with rain, I can't see people bothering to queue outside of a shop

Well sp im sure the medical people will give the best advice but all i hear is they dont want a second spike so really be surprised if the 2meter rule is abolished anytime soon

I still cannot get my head around most other vehicles having multiple people in them but us posties not being allowed to get into a van together for five minutes to get to the first drop off point. We are just making our lives harder than they need to be.
The UK has the worst death rate in the world (per population). The virus is so easily spread, all you have to do is breathe in one infected air particle or touch one infected letter.
Posties are dying, people of all ages are dying. In their thousands. "Making life harder"? Just be thankful you're alive full stop.
Van shares can never happen until the plague has gone completely.
Using masks in a van share would be very impractical and as dangerous as not wearing one. As has been said you cannot wear them for long so you would need to change mask each time you share the van to move to the next loop. With no clean area to do this and all the various touching around the face to put masks on and off, contamination inside the mask becomes a most likely possibility. Both would need to go through a very particular decontamination process each time they are to share the van. That just is not practical or safe out on delivery.
