Is the strike ballot result still 'live' in 6 weeks time?

If RM renege on this, is it still within the time limit or have RM pulled a blinder and managed to waste 6 weeks of the unions mandate to call a strike

The ballot is live for 6 months which means the start of September however obviously every month that goes by means a shorter potential strike period.

Possibly because they had drawn up a plan for one situation that actually fitted as a possible solution to a different one.

I'm the first to suspect RM of having ulterior motives, and I'm sure they do, but using a contingency plan prepared for one scenario to attempt to solve problems created by a different scenario isn't unusual in any field.

Somebody (...in a higher place) has pulled Rico into line here, he's suddenly started to a)recognise, and b) talk to the CWU in the past 48 hrs, and has had to guarantee these 'temporary' measures in writing. I can't imagine he's had a sudden change on heart from his own introspective self-reflection. Some carrot has been dangled in front of him

Didn't have the chance to watch the broadcast, but according to the letter from Rico Back it's just for 6 weeks, so if we don't deliver letters on a Saturday is it a longer Monday attendance, or will the letters still be on the first wave and if you can clear them you do so?

Agreed. Couldn't ask for more. It allows offices that are failing, to change if needed, and offices that are clearing, to keep things as they are. Local arrangements make more sense.
so if you are an office that is clearing everyday you will be able to carry on with a normal full 6 day delivery of both letters and parcels?

That's what they said. The letter states clearly that any change is voluntary. I don't care what im delivering as long as it is my duty on the days and times im supposed to be there. If it is packets all day, fair dues.

Guys and girls read the letter what was sent to the union,2 months ago Rico was saying he was going to do what he wanted to do without talking to the cwu,well let me tell you something yes you are Rico that letter is gold dust to go forward and protect the uso and thousands of jobs

If they continue to be as busy as they have the last 6 weeks then I suspect that's one reason why RM have felt the need to avoid a strike.
Perhaps once the lockdown begins to ease and volumes revert to normal summer levels it'll be a different story..

Online shopping will continue to be high for a long while, i hope bricks & morter shops recover but ir's going to be a big struggle

So if there are no Saturday letter deliveries for the next 6 weeks, and any duty changes are voluntary, what will walkers be doing on Saturdays now?
