So if I flat out refuse to use my own car on delivery, what can happen?

More than likely posties trying to make it easier for themselves or even faced with the prospect of having to start later sharing the same van.

How far is walk to first delivery point? 1 mile = 15 mins walk
my point was, if I refuse to use my car for delivery regardless if its approved by the union what route can the manager take me?

I suggest you go back to the top and read the first two lines of the guidance. "Colleagues who wish to".
It's YOUR choice if you want to do this or not. Don't let a mangager tell you otherwise, or try to persuade you.
So to answer your original question: NOTHING!

If I work with my partner/housemate can we share a van to our delivery point or for other business?

No, in line with ‘social distancing’ guidelines from Public Health, the business has moved to one person in a vehicle at one time until further notice.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Nothing its voluntary
I, ………………………….. , employed as a postman/woman on delivery work, agree
voluntarily to use my private vehicle registration number on official duties strictly on the terms
and conditions contained in the paragraphs below.

It’s not your problem, let the managers manage, do you job, go home & forget about it.

I know an office my way who has, in part ignored this.
One guy said to me, 'I come to work on a bus with no social distancing, they want me to go to my walk on a bus with no social distancing, I might as well jump in a van with my mate and get to my walk with less hassle.'
Worrying about social distancing in some DO's is pointless as at times it's impossible to do.

So how would Rob (real name) get to his duty safely with the new guidance?
How would anyone get to their duty if it's a few miles away?

How is this working in offices for non drivers in offices where the nearest duty is miles away.

Interested to know.

Since PCOD was done away with there's got to be a good few DOs now located on industrial estates away from the area that they cover
