We are essential to those who rely on their prescriptions or their essentials because they’re housebound.
We are not 'essential'.
We're just an option, one of many.
In my area prescriptions are delivered by a different option.

How is the just walking out going. I quite fancy that. Waiting for my week off so my nursey wife can get the nursey training to work in covid wards.Chelseablue wrote:We are non essential , there should be a proper lock down like other countries. My wife is now at home having walked out . There has been no duty of care in offices , too late in stopping the 2 in a van , 2 metre rule etc etc . I dont blame the doms , rico and the union shouldve been firm in this ages ago . If you dont feel safe you go home thats the official line . Let the great nhs get on with the huge task ahead .

If the union hadn’t of put us forward as the fourth medical service the place might of been closed already
Staff told to go home and rm claim 80% of wages like any other business ,which is all it is
Of course anyone is any of these big offices are going to get it
You won’t have wages if you walk out ,but you wont need them if you stay in possibly
The union have shown a total lack of leadership ,sending people into a death trap to protect their subs coming in

Nicola Sturgeon has just said bus companies are going to be paid for the journeys they'd have been forecasted to provide. We should do this with non essential mail (easier to just list what's essential and kill off everything else), and be paid for what we were forecasted to receive.

Is it the Union sending people into a death trap though? Without the CWU we would of still been expected to be 2 in a van.If it wasn't for the CWU you would of heard diddly-squat from the RM.
Personally I think people are asking for too many answers from the Union and not enough from the Employer.

Fortunately I've been off this week but I've been reading the forums to gauge what's happening, I've been in touch with colleagues and its 1 man in a van which is good but no hand wipes, no gloves, no masks, no social distancing, etc. My regular partner doesn't report to the office now, he has to walk from his home 2mls in duty time, then catch a bus to our delivery then meet up with the driver, do his duty then make his way home, so no lapsing unless he fancies another walk, they've been giving loops away daily to complete the duty. I've been with RM for over 30yrs. and I can honestly say this is a dire situation being run by a bunch of amateurs, profits before safety, postman that are as thick as pig s**t doing what the manager says, would they stick their head in a gas oven if the manager said so, tell him to do one !, I'm back next Wednesday but if the situation is as bad in our office as I'm lead to believe I shall be having a rant at the manager and if I can't get the right answers regarding the Health & Safety issues I'll be doing a 180 turn and going home, no pay but I want to live to enjoy my up coming retirement, stay safe you lot and look at the bigger picture.
