Can we start a new union?

I still got too pick my son up from nursery. So I'm high risk of being infected then I've got too walk into a nursery every day. I hope it's all worth It for them D2D's
I don't think that's going to be a problem, nobody's saying that anyone's GOT to start later mate. They're just asking around, a bit like Christmas, to see if we can have a few "Un-Official" shifts to limit the ammount of staff in the building at any one time. :thumbup

Households really seem to be upsetting a lot of Posties. I tend to just treat them as any other mail... it's all RM work that we get paid to do. People are suggesting that we should Prioritise the mail ... which is fair enough ... but who is to say what's important? Specials OK ... (although last week they were mainly Mother's Day Cards that people had left too late for the normal Post.) ... Tracked Packets ... (with the latest Video Game to amuse Little Jimmy during his Lock Down).... are they anymore important than some Legal Letter that's being sent in a plain envelope? :hmmmm We just can't can't tell, that's my point.

Personally I'd just prep your Households before you start throwing off (in RM Time) and then take them where your going. They're normally all delivered by Thurs/Fri. You may find that Households will be prepped by some of the Van Share Partners that can't go out with the Driver now. It's an option we've discussed. If it's impractical for the Van Share Partner to get to the Duty with the Driver he may have to remain behind and go home early (after any remaining indoor work). The following day the roles may be reversed, with him taking the van out (IF he can Drive).

I know you're off at the moment but everything is changing on a daily basis, nothing's written in stone, and so you just have to remain flexible and react. A BIG problem for some "Old & Bold" that have been stuck in the same Old Routine for Decades in some cases. :cuppa

I'm off at the minute but have kept in touch with someone who I work with. Last thing I heard from them was couple days ago. Our office if this is true and he's not winding me up which I doubt as there's absolutely no need to, is apparently going on a 4am-4pm shift where you take out 1 walk plus half of another and then get the following day off then rinse and repeat. I presume the person also preps both walks, they never said. I don't know if this is voluntary or compulsory, either way I don't fancy it.

Every DO is dealing with it in their own way. RM have said "All Bets are Off" (I para-phrase) DOMs have basically been given a Free Hand to Deal with the Delivery Situation as they see fit. Ours is quite sensible and has asked for suggestions from the shop floor .... "A Man's Got To Know His Limitations" :thumbup

Looks like your DOMs trying to limit the ammount of staff in at any one time. OK if your Office agrees .... Personally I wouldn't fancy working 12 hour shifts. I would presume it's Voluntary and if it doesn't suit you I'd discuss it on your return. Your DOM cannot force people to change their contracts just because he wants to....... see what your friend says, was it discussed with the workforce? :cuppa

Simple fact is that if we expect them to truly act like our health and safety is their number 1 priority then we all need to act like it is too. Selfish posties on here cracking jokes about being glad to be out of the house are just showing they don't even care about themselves or their own colleagues, how can we expect the Royal Mail and CWU to protect us if we let this kind of attitude prevail.
