I know you said no questions but what are the non drivers doing?POSTMAN wrote:There could be some possible updates or maybe it's just an isolated ides.
One office is changing van sharing.
As of tomorrow van sharing has ceased in a DO which is a fairly big office 120+ staff and van shares are on alternating 3 day weeks, 12 hour days.
Guy 1 does his own delivery and tracked and specials for guy 2 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and guy 2 does likewise on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
Singleton and rural duties have staggered start times so half start at 6.30am and leave the office at 7.50am and the other half start at 8am and so on, this is also on an alternating basis i.e. 6.30am Monday, 8.00am Tuesday, etc
The idea being one frame occupied, next frame empty and so on and more social distancing.
And sorry I do not know anymore and can't answer any questions.

There are probably people on trolley duties who don't have the same concerns as you.sindba wrote:
I just will not share a van. To heck with the consequences.
What if they were made to give up their trolley duties to accommodate people like you?
I can imagine the squealing now.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The understanding is that van share guy 1 preps as much of both duties as he can and vice versa on his days and leaves the office at 7.50am sharp and takes whatever is ready regardless.
Non drivers and those with childcare issues who cant change times "will be looked at" is all they have been told.
I guess more info as it goes on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Wonder if this is just a management plan or something they been working on with The CWU. 6.30 start, out on delivery by 8 and a 12 hour day means a potential delivery span of 10 and a half hours. What if you get done by 3pm? Job and finish or sent out with more work? 10 hours of delivery a day sounds pretty brutal.

I read it as taking out your delivery every other day with tracked and specials for the other walk. 12 hour day, 6.30 start, out of office by 7.50.

one option could be to drop post out to Posties who live within the relevant town/city and they can walk from their house and back to do loops. Not ideal. But an option.

Let's stop taking in DSA , if the mail is THAT important then the sender must use Royal Mail.SpacePhoenix wrote:The non-important stuff would have to be stored in DOs as MCs won't have the room to store itsindba wrote:No, the realistic alternative is that RM looks after us, whilst delivering as much as possible.
