Spoke to an Amazon courier today.

We should think ourselves lucky that we have the option to take these precautions. I have a family member that works on a checkout in a large supermarket. She is feet away from customers, has to take money from them and hand back change etc. She says at the best of times customers will sneeze and cough in her direction and there is no way food shops will be allowed to close. They also have not been issued with wipes or gels and no access to hand washing until she goes on a break.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

amazon also have been told they can have unlimited sick leave with pay if they have to self-isolate rm are a joke shocking stance from them also the union just as bad
It's unlimited sick leave *without* pay. Not nearly as generous. They get two weeks pay if they have to quarantine but that is it.

well its a lot more than rm are doing for us
No it really isn’t. You get full sick pay for up to 6 months if necessary. If you are required to isolate yourself RM will pay you and it is a wage that eclipses what Amazon pay its workers.
Still don't help if your in an at risk group 6 month pay is no good if you die in a week or two!

So you think we should close down all delivery offices for the many months this is likely to be around? People need to quit it with the mass hysteria. Just take necessary precautions and live your life.

That they have been told that nobody is to touch their PDA but them and keep distance from customers. He also told me they have been given wipes to clean the van at the start of the day and that they have all been given hand gel.
I had an Amazon delivery yesterday. The delivery guy just gave it to me as usual.

I saw a Dpd delivery driver today handing parcels and getting signatures on his pda, I felt sorry for him, I hope Dpd will follow suit and adopt a prevention policy...
