Shaun is leaving the business next week, and apparently, he has worked incredibly hard while he has been here, especially over the last 2 years.

Is this still up to date information, I've felt bloody awful for the last few days, I brought loads of mail back yesterday. I've been in my dressing gown all day, didn't make football yesterday, or this weekends beer festival!
Needless to say I've done a covid test, and tested positive.
I rung a colleague, who said I'm expected to wear a mask and go in!!!!!!

Well if youre feeling ill, and not well enough to work, then dont go in. Nobody should be going to work with Covid. It puts other people at risk, especially people with chronic health problems. Your manager shouldn't be ordering you in.
