Covid absences “may” now count towards your sick record in line with royal mails attendance procedure.

You should continue to use isolate for 5 days though and provide a sick note if your absence exceeds 7 days.

“In line with government guidelines”
At that point no one is going to bother to self isolate as it'll very likely end up with them getting a stage

Thanks. His words were that I could be positive for months. So if I don’t go back on Thursday due to positive test and symptoms it will be classed as a different sickness leave as rules have changed. I have only been working for 3 months so I don’t even get sick pay so it’s not like i’m Milking it. Haven’t been given any guidance about sickness or a contract yet.maybe just to scare me to go in but after the last 2 years of covid I will feel wrong going in tomorrow if I’m still coughing and sniffling with a positive test ...I am feeling slightly better today but still visible signs of virus (snot sneezes and cough) and I know i’ll Be sharing a van and office space etc. See what tomorrow brings I suppose

Hello

Tested positive on 21 February and NHS track and trace
Send me letter to self isolate until March 3. From what I
Understand is after feb 24 I don’t have to self isolate.
Should I go back to work feb 25th or follow the letter and self
Isolate until March 3
Any advice will be much appreciated
Thanks

Hello,

Individuals should follow the updated guidance that’s been published today on the Gov website:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... r-contacts

Self-isolation is recommended for at least 5 days where an individual has tested positive. Testing is still recommended before ending self-isolation. None of this is now enforceable though, so we’re simply expecting individuals to make sensible decisions and follow the guidance to keep their colleagues safe.

Kind Regards.

James. Coronavirus Support Team

"We're simply expecting individuals to make sensible decisions"?

Does James from the Coronavirus Support Team know any of the bellends we work with?
I don't suppose he cares. He will be out of a job soon.

That's unfair on your colleagues.

If Covid isolation is no longer excluded from the absence procedure, many posties will want to come to work to avoid Stage warnings, if they feel well enough.

As much as James has been helpful, reading from a script, from home, isn't he really from the dark side, which includes my BFF Vicky!
