The Irony!

Post by postal_jedi »

The 'What Future Is There In Postal Worker Forums?' thread has been locked. Why? Could it be because it turned into a childish name calling session? I hope this isn't an omen!
Don't blame me, don't shame me, just because I'm the one to tell you.

Not an Omen Jedi - just us Mods and Admin getting fed up of our warnings being ignored. If it carries on people may be temporarily or permanently banned. Threads will be locked or deleted in their entirety.

In the worst case if we, and that includes members, don't clean up our act the site will be closed down by legal action and people could and loose their jobs.

Before anyone claims its against Freedom of speech see this quote from Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_speech
In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country, although the degree of freedom varies greatly. Industrialized countries also have varying approaches to balance freedom with order. For instance, the United States First Amendment theoretically grants absolute freedom, placing the burden upon the state to demonstrate when (if) a limitation of this freedom is necessary. In almost all liberal democracies, it is generally recognized that restrictions should be the exception and free expression the rule; nevertheless, compliance with this principle is often lacking.

I really don't blame you mods for getting fed up! The heat is really on you all. I do hope though that this site can survive these obsticles. I was hoping that the post would stay where I originally put it, just so it would be more in the face of members, if you like. Only so they could, perhaps comment, find possible solutions or just be more aware of the issue. There is a major problem, on this site with certain posters, hailing abuse because they don't agree with an opinion. I have been at the recieving end several times and it is not nice. It is very intimidating. Unfortunately it drags us all down. I do enjoy this site. I think it is a valuable asset to any Postal Worker and I wish it all the best in the future. It would be nice to hear other opinions on the matter too.
