please help
I don't know where on this site to put this. I am currently having some serious family health issues, I have 2 parents in different hospitals 30 odd miles apart and one is seriously life threateningly ill, I also have my own health worries at the moment and my line manager is well aware of these. He said if nescessary I could pull holidays fromnext year. I have only one brother and he lives 300 miles away so basically I am the only one close enough to do anything. Things have taken a turn for the worse of and I need some time I phoned today to see if I could pull a holiday to help sort some things out to be told, NO. I am in such a state of distress I really don't know what to do. Can anyone help.

Re: please help
You are obviously suffering from stress - go sick. Get yourself to the doctors for a sick note too.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: please help
I don't know whether this is financially viable for you. But you could take Special Leave. It's a Family emergency, so your Manager should grant it.

Re: please help
I got no help from royal mail or my line manager, just was given a stage for it. He also tried stating that he offered me 2 days A/L this was only mentioned as he gave me the stage to sign, not at the meeting where the union rep guy was present. To top it all my own health problems require me to have surgery in 6 weeks with a possible 6 to 12 weeks off work, to avoid another stage disciplinary am I supposed to cancel it? I will not because I need it but I am really beginning to feel harrassed by my line manager.
