Abbreviation List

Post by Patrick Clifton »

What about adding an 'Abbreviation list?' Not being in the job that long, I am puzzled by some of the abbreviations used for certain things related to work. As in another thread I noticed that was started today, a lot of new posties have signed up recently and they may be as puzzled as I am as to some of the 'shortcuts' being used.

Unless there is already one and someone could point it out to me. :Very Happy

What about DODHE (pronounced Doddy) - Dead on Delivery Heat Exhaustion.

As in - John's late today.
Didn't you hear? They found him Doddy yesterday.

Any chance of getting "Reggie" in there? As a slang term for Registered Letter ( which is in itself an archaic term for SDs )

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
