Is the forum getting hit by bots? A good few times over the last few days I get exceed resources errors come up instead of the forum

I keep getting a resources exceeded (or wording to that effect) message in my browser window, have to refresh a few times before it'll let me in.
A football fans site I use is getting hammered, can hardly get into it.
