It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don't really see much of a problem with that. Nice they upped the pay in the latest deal from this offer. Rest of it seems reasonable to me though. Just means the piss takers won't be able to get away with it anymore.

Re: Royal Mail's proposal to the CWU in October /Achim's letter to Terry
This was Royal Mail’s proposal to the CWU and has been significantly changed.
Everything from 300 Delivery Offices to receive larger parcels ,what they wanted to use for resourcing , to 5 hour delivery span ,I in 6 ,attacks on an attendance patterns.
All of that has been changed and is not in the agreement.
Plus the pay offer in February was lump sums based which would be consolidated if you agreed to all of the above and would only count on your base pay.
Again the pay rise is 2.7 fully consolidated and back dated !
This is why the negotiations took so long as the union had to change Royal Mail’s strategy.
To be fair The Royal Mail chair has taken a punt on agreeing to this and putting the equivalent of 358 million pound on the table and that the union will introduce both productivity improvements and change.
Those who believe it should be rejected should be careful what you wish for !

The devil is in the detail, Which we don't seem to have regarding changes to delivery spans, attendance patters, without more detail on these most important things within delivery I WILL BE VOTING NO

There's no need to panic Martin, the deal will be voted through easily.
The truth is though it's not a great deal, there's very little guarantee of anything, next years pay award is poor and at best it buys us time.
I'm not surprised you like it, it protects the status quo.

5 hour delivery span minimum and 1 in 6 is in that agreement
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Acca your wrong !
These are the words of the agreement
The national guidelines will encourage local solutions, along with a positive approach and options for innovative duty arrangements, without imposing a standard one in six approach.
The Delivery Guidelines which will be agreed by the end of January will not have 5 hour delivery spans in these guidelines.

and those who agree should also beware to what you are agreeing to as well as the company arent going as you say change to get nothing out of it .and if all the details of the points of the agreement havent been sorted how can you expect to push this to a ballot when the members dont know what the final details are ? its like signing for a loan and take the money then they decide what the terms and interested is and add it inMartin Walsh wrote: ↑28 Dec 2020, 18:23This was Royal Mail’s proposal to the CWU and has been significantly changed.

There's that word again LOCAL
RM will use local solutions to extend delivery for weaker offices
Tried and tested practice which cwu will endorse
Should be national agreement for all
f***ing local solutions
