RMCtv : Revision and THE task force : Only minor tweaks needed for 85 : It's a label thing again
Does the company regret pushing through revisions that were mainly done for the share price?
Matthew ' M'lord, I digress' Newman
Certainly given the value of revisions to our business in terms of the current structure, I think the point being made by Simon is that they're not future proof.
Given we know from the commercial teams, that parcel growth will change over time, and as the commerce grows, it's impacting the number of large parcels that we're seeing coming into our business as well, and the structured revisions that we have begun to introduce dedicated parcel routes to cope with that, and to set units up for future parcel volumes in the different shapes and sizes that we're seeing coming through as well, being driven by different customer demands and the aim of all of that is to put the company in the best position to react to our customer into the future.
We set up a national task force, that visited those units that had structural revisions and tabletop revisions that were perceived as not working, and in terms of both quality of service and efficiency, that task force visited eighty five units up and down the country that were in the top one hundred units, struggling with efficiency and quality of service metrics and with the help of that task force, all of those units, all eighty five of them, dropped out of the top one hundred.
But interestingly, none of the eighty five units were changed structurally by the task force or required any further investment, and this sort of showed us that every unit will be quite different and that the evidence tells us that we can organise units well, we have the correct processes in place, the appropriate resource, a good plan developed by the manager and alongside the cwu and in line with the efficiency targets, the revisions can work, and they don't require much further investment to tweak any issues that are required post revisions.
So how much they'll need to be redone? That isn't what the evidence tells us, and we should be set up in the vast majority of our offices to be in a good position to cope with any further volume changes and going through further revisions.
So most of the time, the issues that are identified after a revision of fairly minor, they might get things like laying labels on frames or mech changes. In some cases, maybe some changes to routes based on decisions to improve safety after a revision has taking place.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

VERY UNCLEAR how Task Force visited 85 depots ??
Their Transport THE FLYING PIG was wanted for Panto in Southampton Dec-early Jan -along with their financial backer THE FAIRY GODMOTHER !!
If all 85 are no longer in top 100 Naughty Depot
Which 85 have replaced them
From what I hear still Depots all over the Country failing walks daily, and have been for weeks -some months !!
NOTHING HAS CHANGED

How does putting labels on a frame help, what's on the label, anybody had a label?

Re: RMCtv : Revision and THE task force : Only minor tweaks needed for 85 : It's a label thing again
This goes back to an earlier post from RM celebrating the massive breakthrough that was if the frame is labelled correctly then it makes it easier, the problem arose when revisions were rushed in and the frames were totally wrong with streets going 1,2,3,4,5,6 instead of 1,3,5,7,9 etc and they were the better ones, we had duties with the streets in the wrong order, named houses in random positions on the frames, quite frankly you could have thrown the labels at the fitting and wherever they stuck wouldn't have been any worse.

It would help if the label said Absinthe - ABV 60%.
If the climate was a bank, they would already have saved it.

I suspect that like most offices what they really needed was to be allowed to fill their vacancies

You dont want a revision my friend. Frames are a disgrace , prob 60 % of dutys not working in ours . Put in a working frame plan and always comes back wrong ,, still! Mail coming back daily and its supposed to be light period, roll on a few weeks time , chaos again! We did care , but thats gone now .

RMTV and workplace are starting to get the flavour of RTV and Pravda, it's like going back to before the berlin Wall crashed down except we are on the wrong side. The "message" is more important than the "truth" or the opinions of the coal face. They are so out of touch it's like Royal Mail is a reflection, at least, of how the Kremlin operates.
At least they don't suppress us to the same extent but are ignoring our concerns making Royal Mail any better.

I think it's more like Orwell's Ministry Of Truth.RMTV and workplace are starting to get the flavour of RTV and Pravda
