RMC : RMtv : Joint productivity agreement announced by Achim and Terry
This is a trimmed version of a myroyalmail video
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

As my DOM said to me last week "we're f***ing shafted".
.... and that's after the revision started to make duties FAIR.
You're right about putting people in early grave.
An 'elder statesman' of my office is gonna get a few extra streets.
While a 'runner' who last Monday finished at 10.15am is gonna have streets taken off because his duty is 'too long'.
GOTTA LOVE REVISIONS!!

Thats the million dollar question, but by the sounds of it in this video the CWU are aligning themselves more to Royal Mail's way of thinking than that of its Union members. Once the business bring in these clocking machines staff will be expected to work all their hours that they are paid for??
Cue the ongoing dispute between those posties who crack on and get the job done and those who string the job out. The business doesn't care. All it will clock is that are some posties are finishing way earlier than anyone else and some posties finishing late with a view to try and redress that balance. Fair or not.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

And that could be exactly what RM want. A way to turn the membership against the union and/or get through all the working practises they've wanted for sometime. Union playing a very dangerous game thinking they can be so "pally" with company higher ups.postslippete wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 21:35but by the sounds of it in this video the CWU are aligning themselves more to Royal Mail's way of thinking than that of its Union members.
RM giving them enough rope to hang themselves?
Time will tell.

Our revision is looking like a nightmare and NOT for the people who deserve 'extra loops'.
So basically nothing appears to change.
JOBS FOR THE BOYS.

Re: RMC : RMtv : Joint productivity agreement announced by Achim and Terry
See, thats not on.
I've often seen mail and non tracked parcels on my duty that have rolled over for the next day and our Unit rep has basically said just deliver what you can in your hours. I got no issue with working my hours and quite often the manager thinks he does me a favour by getting 2 of those loops covered so I only have to deliver 4 loops. But what about addressing the fact that the mail and packets have not gone out in the first place and that no managers are ever accountable?
And before anyone says its because we are in a pandemic or lockdown etc; its not down to staff shortages because RM have literally hired dozens of agency workers since just before Xmas at our depot. Many of them are now doing rounds in the morning as well as delivering in the afternoon when we get back. So why is this workload not getting delivered??
Customers have been asking me where their parcel is and I remind them "it gets left in the frame in the office on my day off because the managers don't want to pay anyone to get it covered". I really hope the Union gets to grips with this as they are essential allowing Royal Mail to run the service down at the expense of our jobs.
To give you an example. I don't usually work my day off but I asked if I could work the Saturday. The screws were like "Are you sure you want to work a Saturday, and not have a nice long weekend off?". I asked if the had the duty covered, but they couldn't confirm it until on the day as they might have to move staff in case there is sick absence. Everything gets twisted to suit Royal Mail's agenda.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

what about the people who work saturday/sunday and are out way after the office has closed? how they meant to clock out? can see it become more of a hassle.
will it automatically do overtime? that would be the only pro to this.

So if the elder statesman has go seniority he should just pick the smaller duty in the repickyubin282 wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 21:32As my DOM said to me last week "we're f***ing shafted".

Considering the 'elder statesman' can retire in 12 months and has been on the same delivery for 25+ years its unlikely they will want to change.
Lets see what happens.
