RMCtv : An update on our Delivery Performance Task Force : Just print some labels
Steve Molloy : Head of Delivery Performance ⋅ Royal Mail Group
So the delivery performance task force is going to look at the bottom ten units initially in the country that have got the highest amount of mail on hand that are struggling to provide them some structured help to enable them to to clear all of their mail every single day and get back to a position of strength that delivers a customer promise.
It consists of three operational managers, one sdl(?), an HR expert who's able to pull forward some recruitment and a quality expert who can help identify the quality problems and where we need to look specifically,
we went into the west London delivery centre, which has had considerably high levels of or part covered USO commitments, that's where not every delivery has gone out fully every day, and a significant.
amount of mail that wasn't necessarily connected on the day that it should be that, that consists of six offices and we've been in there for the whole of yeah, last week waiting for this, that's when we started and we've got back to a position where it's radically improved. we've also looked at that ips area, and that didn't have proper professionally printed fillets on it. so we've had them printed and put out you can see that the uh track results are dramatically improved which are the daily results we get, and we're looking forward to seeing the weekly quality results, and equally, expect those to be massively improved.
it's been very well received both managers and the front line people of uh have got involved and done and uh the unit is really improving, this is on an improving trajectory. we've gone through the resoursing as well, so we've looked at the, done a thorough review of the resoursing of the building, and then i think i'd say that when the managers step back and step onto the balcony and look down rather than firefighting in the muck and bullets, then they can actually see that they are in a better place, and it's all about workplace management and workplace organisation and really working with their people and also having some key touch points during the day. when you review the the plan that you put together versus the plan that is being delivered in actual in the actual time, so you can react to anything that's gone wrong
I had a meeting on monday with mark baulch in the delivery pec team. and we've agreed on a set of words, they're absolutely working with us. we have regular dialogue and either over text or over the phone.
I met with the divisional reps in Kilburn, the London divisional rep, and that was a really good meeting. a lot of honesty and a lot of discussion around revision frame labeling as well
this helped us get to the bottom of that and also met tom, who's the the area rep and Des who's the local rep and had some really good discussions and come up with some great joint workings, great joint problem solving.
We do all of the actions. we don't leave an action plan. there was a bit of a myth. but when we went in office is that we would leave an an action plan. which is what a lot of support functions do, but we're very adamant.
we do all of them while we're there, and we don't leave until we're absolutely satisfied and more important that the the DOM and the union is satisfied, that we've got the building back to where it should be. and we're gonna clear from then on in.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's all so obvious now. I can't believe so many posties have missed this simple fix to all the problems.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

We are in the bottom 10.
I will let you know how we bet on.

Well what a delightful way to think of your workforce.

If you're a menber of .... THE DELIVERY PERFORMANCE TASK FORCE ....... do you get to wear a super hero uniform?
Perhaps like Superman's but with a Big Letter P on the chest?
FFS who are these clowns? Well that's One Delivery Office Sorted lets get on with the other 900 odd now.

We need the Task force Working Association Team of Simon (T.W.A.T.S for short) to pay a visit here, our new labels have white street names on yellow labels. If you put your head an inch from the label you can just about read the street name. Great work team!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Very Good HTP
As if we haven't got enough TWATS in this business.

So they've gone and confirmed what thousands of OPG's have been saying for over a decade that LM's and DOM's are as much use as chocolate fireguards, aren't fit for purpose and couldn't run a bath without instructions from elsewhere. Yet everyone gets a "well done team" pat on the back for fixing what shouldn't never have been broken in the first place.
You couldn't make this up.
