Break time lost.
Our revisions is due to go in soon and our hours are changing as a result. The new hours include long and short days, the three shortest being 7hours long. That means that on the short days we are only entitled to 30 minutes break. This means that half of the hour off the working week is in fact coming off our breaks! As I understand this is in-line with the agreement with the union over break entitlement so could be difficult to object to, but does seem somewhat underhand. Is there anything we can do? Maybe refuse to vote it in? We have done this with previous revisions and they have been forced anyway.

contact you area rep and tell him/she that they can f**k off with that one as you are not paying for your shorter working week by cutting meal breaks .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Executive action can (should) always be countered by a rule 13 ballot.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Break time lost.
The vote went against the revision, I wonder what will happen now? The good news is because it isn't now going in on 1st. November it can't happen until after Christmas now.

Re: Break time lost.
That’s exactly what our manager has done and also added extra lapsing, so 3 days a week we lose 10 minutes a day break so like you say we aren’t working one hour less per week and as usual a lot of mugs are still coming in 1 hours early anyway because they are scared to cut off, we have week workers and a rep who isn’t bothered it just keeps getting worse and nothing being done about it I think like a lot of people I will be looking for another job soon as all they want our young yes people in the job
