Re: Revision Disaster
they need to sort it out. If they don't the company will eventually go out of business. People will no longer see royal mail as reliable when they don't get their mail and parcels over christmas, and companies will eventually stop using them long term. It baffles me what they are doing.

Re: Revision Disaster
Can someone please explain to me are these revisions actually legal, every office had a vote whether to vote yes or no, our office was a massive no ( other offices I guess were the same) . A week later union reps come into the office and ask why we voted no; we explained our reasons but after NOT having a second vote it was pushed through. After being ignored by management and our own union is there any other avenues we can take on to the legality of their actions.

There is no 'legal' way.frankieboy wrote: ↑13 Oct 2021, 07:35Can someone please explain to me are these revisions actually legal, every office had a vote whether to vote yes or no, our office was a massive no ( other offices I guess were the same) . It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Revision Disaster
Same here, people going on sick left right and centre with stress. Getting fed with people chasing me down the road; "where's my post", " been waiting 2 weeks for my parcels", all I can say is management have really messed up but are lying and blaming it on covid. The national press need to know about this, but I guess they won't print anything till it's too late and Christmas is ruined.Chelseablue wrote: ↑13 Oct 2021, 15:15Same here frankie , pushed it through and union advised it too after saying theres no chance this will ever work!! It is, think it’s called “operation piss off the full timers so they leave and crush the union”Chelseablue wrote: ↑12 Oct 2021, 18:58I just cannot believe what is happening either , feels like this is done on purpose it really is that unreal .

Re: Revision Disaster
Yeah, to second Wullie10 above, just simply work your hours. Why get so uptight about what they're perceived to be doing? It's not our problem, and it will "all come out in the wash" I believe - rightly or wrongly.Jpro747 wrote: ↑16 Oct 2021, 22:08It is, think it’s called “operation piss off the full timers so they leave and crush the union”Chelseablue wrote: ↑12 Oct 2021, 18:58I just cannot believe what is happening either , feels like this is done on purpose it really is that unreal .![]()

Re: Revision Disaster
How do you do that over Xmas? if you work your hours over Xmas then unless you have an easy round you are going to be bringing back a reasonable amount of post/parcels each day which would cause mayhem day after day.
I can only assume you have an easy round or your management is very understanding and helpful that maybe they get someone on overtime to clear the mail you leave behind.
This said.....that is how it should be! We should be able to clear our rounds on the busiest days, we should not be in a position where we are pressured to go over to complete. Rounds should be easily doable and they should top us up to our finish time with lapsing on lighter days....
The reality is that rounds are too big and most Posties at our depot have to go over their time most days to complete. This is completely the wrong setup.

Re: Revision Disaster
You might get even more mayhem over Xmas pressure if they don't allow us to roll any leftovers for sequencing batches to the next day. If they don't and a batch ends up being really lumpy you could easily get a dozen boxes or more going as manualnorris9 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2021, 09:46How do you do that over Xmas? if you work your hours over Xmas then unless you have an easy round you are going to be bringing back a reasonable amount of post/parcels each day which would cause mayhem day after day.

Re: Revision Disaster
it's going great in my old D/O some deliveries going undelivered to up to 3 days and the small town delivery office 30 miles south of us got no delivery at all a few months ago ... the usual change for the sake of change ... basically Royal Mail trying to reduce the service to cowboy status .... my former colleagues are no cowboys they are just understaffed having to deal with unrealistic workloads whilst Royal Mail talk of reducing the workload of Royal Mail managers ... whatever happened to the USO ?? because this is not a universal service Royal Mail is delivering, and i can imagine the problem is not just confined to South Ayrshire
