Re: Structural vs table top revisions
As our revision is a mess dom just dismisses our point of view regarding changing duties that are miles too big . Weve all done the duties but he said he cannot change certain things . Duties now even more uneven than before . Rep not interested .

This is royal fail there's only a plan A and if it doesn't work its because the OPG's are lazy and aren't working hard enough.

Simon Thompson
"a table top makes things better - a structural revision makes things fair - we need structural revisions everywhere - and we will but it will take time - by the end of October we will complete 886 table top and 400 structural revisions - next year we should be aiming to do many more structural revisions - we will get everywhere in time - and we should keep refining every year - our workload is constantly changing"

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

He'd probably have done worse. Don't forget this is all agreed by the CWU.1560loopsayear wrote: ↑29 Sep 2021, 17:34I thought Rico Back was bad...but he never destabilised us like this.

Re: Structural vs table top revisions
Questions.
Currently going through a table top revision to reduce our SWW to 37. Tweaks here and there and will be going to a vote soon. Our structured revision looks scheduled for 2023 to reduce FT down to the 35. Our union rep has said that there will be a full office re pick for definite.
Is a re pick mandatory with a structured revision?
Even with potential minor changes to duties. Does a duty not have to be changed by a certain percentage for that duty to go into the re pick list?
Can an office vote on a re pick in a structured revision?
Is there guidelines/policies backing up these answers I could download?
Being old school and not liking change and being a duty holder for 10+ years can I refuse to come off my duty?
Thank you and would be grateful for any replies.

Re: Structural vs table top revisions
The aim of revisions is to make deliveries bigger. Forget all that guff about "fairer" and "more balanced".postmanzach wrote: ↑25 Mar 2021, 05:54Also I had no idea about geo route until this started. I been telling people don’t rush around because of pda actuals you will end up with a bigger round, but now it seems that’s bollocks. We looked at some rounds close to 6 hours on the geo route but the postie is a “runner” gets it done closer to 4- 4.5, the manager has said it’s fine to leave it he is simply fast.
They looked at PDA actuals and realised if they use that data, most walks would get smaller as they're already unachievable.
So instead of using real information, they decided to use a pie in the sky software tool that is laughably unrealistic. Hey presto, far bigger walks and failures across the board.
Meanwhile our Union is too busy swanning round the Labour conference signing motions about Jeremy Corbyn or bloody Palestine or something to give a toss.

I believe if its only a minor change to your duty then you have the option to stay on your duty
Its in Way Forward agreement which you can find on here in downloads. Its found under section 16.1. Im pretty sure this is still the main agreement on revision re picks.
Might be tricky with meaning of ‘minor change’ though as structural revision usually involves big changes but your DO could be different. Get your Rep involved aswell and good luck
