Can't see the non-drivers being made reserves as all the reserves will need to be able to drive (either that or at the time someone will be moved off their own walk to cover another walk)

How are they going to sell that one to staff of 30+ years service who drive?
Staff that joined 12-13 years ago and don't/won't drive for RM do the Mon-Fri shifts, whilst long serving members get the weekend work (at best) as part of a rota.

It's really quite simple.

Drivers will have a pick of duties and duty patterns, 4 day weeks, Wallingtons and 9 day fortnights for the price of working maybe 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Non drivers will be allocated a duty (perhaps even made reserves) and get a set 5 day week.

It sells itself.

I know it's quite simple, but like everything in RM, it's simple on paper.
We have numerous staff 30 plus years service who simply wouldn't stand for having to work any weekends if there is chance of permanent Mon-Fri.

You could have reserves that cover non driving roles and reserves that cover driving duties. We have reserves who can't drive now and they get put on van shares with a driver
