It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I am a MGV driver based at JMC but live in Edgware spoke to my Postie today and asked him how it was going re the revision deployed and he told me he had been upgraded from 25hrs to 30hrs and has 10hrs overtime on top everyweek to get his walk done. He also told me when he has his rest day his walk doesn't go out so he comes into 2 days worth of mail. He is on a HCT walk with 1000 drops. They also changed the walk nos too. He says the reason for his 2 hrs a day O/T is because his walk is not thrown off. Basically just because they deployed on time doesn't mean the revision was a success. Apparently they are reviewing the revision and there are others like him having trouble.
I worked at Edgware from 1991-2005 and I was the rep who deployed the SDD in 2004 and we deployed on time and successfully because we did it properly and had a DOM who worked with me to make it work because we wanted duties that worked and not be a PR stunt infact we were the DO in the HA/UB area that deployed on time and successfully. The DOM is now a very senior RM manager and part of the reason he is pne is because of me and his work at Edgware PDO in 2004.
If a P/T Postie has to get daily overtime just to get his walk done doesn't mean it is a success it means he has to be converted to F/T hours for a start
