Average holiday pay

Hi guys I'm in need of some advice please. I believe the threshold for receiving average holiday pay is 8 hours of overtime per month. This month I have had 2 weeks annual leave and then in the 2 weeks I've been back my manager has 'forgotten' to pay me overtime. This now means that I've not reached 8 hours this month whereas the previous 5 months I've averaged around 60 hours per month. How is this going to affect my average holiday pay? Is the manager liable and who should I contact to resolve this situation. I should not be punished because of a managers mistake. Thanks

Your ot is paid the week u did it make sure your manager inputs on correct week then check your wage slip will say what week commencing it is

If he inputs late will show on payslip as correct week BUT ONLY if he inputs correctly so check your payslip.
If he's done it wrong yes you will miss out for whole 6 months so go straight to HR and bypass manager as it wouldn't surprise anyone he's deliberately done it that way as he knew you were on holiday and would save the company some money.
Don't forget the current 6 month period runs from September 21 to March 22- but again check the actual dates carefully as it's not exact months and they usually overlap into previous/next month.

Hi. I only started with RM in the middle of October. My contract is only 5hrs a week (Sunday parcels). I only worked the 5 hrs for probably the first 2 weeks (training, driving assessment etc) but since first week in November I've done at least 35 hours a week overtime. Does this mean I won't get any paid holiday (apart from the 2 days in 6 months I'll get from my contracted hours)?

Correct, you have to do a minimum of 8 hours for each of the 6 qualifying periods. So to get what you’re owed you’ll need to go through ACAS.

The periods are:

Period 7: 27th Sept to 31st Oct
Period 8: 1st Nov to 28th Nov
Period 9: 29th Nov to 26th Dec
Period 10: 27th Dec to 30th Jan
Period 11: 31st Jan to 27th Feb
Period 12: 28th Feb to 27th Mar

From the agreement:

Royal Mail’s payroll function will make these ‘Top Up’ Payments 2 months after the end
of each Qualifying Period (i.e. November and May), albeit as a new and manual
process, the company’s payroll function will confirm arrangements once further
development has been undertaken.

and to work it out (again from the agreement):

The below example mentions 6 weeks leave but if you get 4 weeks then it's divided by 24 and multiplied by 2:

For example, a part-time employee who has
met the minimum regularity threshold, with six weeks’contractual annual leave will have
the calculation of: overtime pay for overtime hours under full-time hours worked by that
employee within that Qualifying Period, divided by 23 and multiplied by 3.

The second interim payment is due in May 2022 to cover the broad monthly period from
October to March (specifically 27th September 2021 to 27th March 2022). This will be the
second and final interim payment based on the following periods:
27th September – 31st October
1
st November – 28th November
29th November – 26th December
27th December – 30th January
31st January – 27th February
28th February – 27th March

Someone at my DO was asking if you don’t meet the 8 hour threshold and put in a claim via ACAS, is there a minimum number of hours?

He only averages about an hour OT a month but found it ridiculous yet slightly amusing he could put in a claim for that 1 hour, knowing the amount received (1 hour X 2 weeks of leave = £24 ish) would cost RM far more in HR and solicitor fees processing it than if they just paid it in the first place.
