Hi,
I have been charged tax when I was in unpaid holiday, in total 88 pounds, week after I had 1 day of my annual leave and they toked that day to pay that 88 pound. It's anybody able to explain me that?
In total I was 2 weeks on my unpaid holiday, cause of family health problems.
Best regards

Re: Tax charged in unpaid holiday
Not an expert but payroll calculates "on the go average" tax payments weekly so even if you didnt earn anything this week there will be some tax "deducted"?

Re: Tax charged in unpaid holiday
you will find that £44 per week was a credit. as tax calculated weekly. we all have a tax free allowance of £12500. divide by 52 is approx £240 per week. so 20% of you allowance is credited @ £48 when wages are nil. presuming you earn enough to pay tax.
