ACAS/CONCILIATION UPDATE :

Post by Dexydog »

So fed up of waiting, and not having heard from ACAS for 16 months, I decided to ring my conciliator.
This post is therefore just to update anyone with claims in through ACAS.
She advised me that since there has been agreement, Royal Mail will now be making individual offers to every person having made a claim.
Obviously this could take months due to the numbers involved, and presumably since they would have to calculate on a case by case basis.
If the offer is unacceptable, an individual at that point would have to re-submit their case with ACAS to be heard in court.
This is whether an individual is in the union, or not.
So let's see how long it takes to get the offers on the table.

Thank you for the update dexy, have edited the title to show more, thanks mate and good luck.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Cheers.
This was only what the conciliator told me.
I started another similar thread, this was an email update from the court clerk in Bristol.
In that, she stated that RM will be sending details of agreement, no mention of individual offers, and that anyone with a claim in already has until 13th August to let them know if they want to keep their claim open.
Quite honestly, it's coming up 3 weeks since the deal was announced and haven't heard diddly, no update from anywhere that matters.
So I'm not holding my breath-if I haven't heard anything by the 13th what choice do I have but to let it go to tribunal?

They're asking you to sign before you know what you're signing for?

That's both hilarious and not funny at all. :cuppa

This isn't what the conciliator told me.
Looks like I'm off to tribunal, what an absolute joke of a company this is.
Can I ask what this letter does say, as I haven't had one.

Does the letter include details of the full agreement?
As the Order made by the court says that they have to do this.

It won't do as 'the letter' everyone is referring to is from CWU not Royal Mail, again CWU have
been blindsided by RM who will take months to work out what people are owed and make
individual offers, but CWU want you to make a binary choice now ie accept or go your own way.

OK I think we're getting confused here.
The Order I'm referring to is one which people have open cases with through ACAS.
The union is basically telling people to take the offer or, if they haven't opened a case already, take it to ACAS.
Great job.

I had the very same letter today from cwu.

Maybe they are looking to gauge how many people are heading for tribunals.
