CWU members working for the Post Office will have received this week a ballot paper asking them to support the unions position against the closure of the Defined Benefit pension scheme
With a stroke of the pen, PO managers are proposing to unnecessarily and dramatically close a healthy pension scheme!
HOW DARE THEY?
The DB pension scheme has a financial cushion of 136.1m surplus which was deliberately accumulated to give longevity of the scheme and is expected to last until 2022... 6 YEARS AWAY!!
The proposed changes by PO is scandalous and the Cwu will be fighting them at every turn.
Can all members that work for the Post Office ensure they return their ballot paper asap to show that we are outraged and united. A high turnout is essential to show our strength of feeling
The consequences of ignoring this issue will last far longer than the couple of seconds it will take to put an X on the ballot paper
