LTB 370/22 – Post Office: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Monday 19th September – Bank Holiday Arrangements
No.370/2022

14th September 2022

Dear Colleagues

Post Office: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Monday 19th September – Bank Holiday Arrangements

Branches are advised we have agreed the following Joint Statement with Post Office with regards to the Bank Holiday next Monday. It should be noted this JS is applicable to Crown Office members; however, there is a very similar version (without reference to COSA) for Supply Chain.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Monday 19 September – Bank Holiday Arrangements

You will be aware Monday 19 September has been designated a full Bank Holiday. As a consequence, the arrangements in place will mirror all normal Bank Holiday arrangements and specifically paragraph 5.3 “Bank Holiday Credits” of the Crown Office Staffing Agreement (COSA) applies.
For those employees who are either on rest day or on annual leave on Monday 19 September, two options apply:

A day off in lieu can be added to annual leave or moved to another convenient time (such as the following week if operationally possible)
Alternatively, overtime can be claimed at the normal rate (1/5th of weekly contractual hours). For a full-timer this would be 7 hours.
We would encourage a conversation to be held in regard to the above arrangements to ensure everyone is able to pick the option that best suits them.

Also, nobody who would ordinarily be scheduled to work will be required to make up any shortfall, or claim any balance of hours. Employees will take the day off regardless of the hours they were scheduled to work.

If there are any questions or concerns regarding the above, please speak to your manager or CWU Rep.

Yours sincerely

Steve Blampied Andy Furey

Head of Directly Managed Branch Network CWU Assistant Secretary

Branches and Reps are asked to bring this LTB to the attention of our Post Office members.

Yours sincerely

Andy Furey
Assistant Secretary

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
