Forth Valley MP calls for Post Office bank improvements

A local MP’s called on the Post Office to improve their banking services, in the wake of recent branch closures.

Ochil and South Perthshire’s Luke Graham says current facilities are “not sufficient” to support communities and businesses in Clacks.

He’s also introduced a Private Members Bill at Westminster, which aims to amend the law relating to rural banking.

Commenting Luke Graham MP said:
“With the Clydesdale and RBS already having closed their doors in Alloa, as well as the Bank of Scotland in Alva, the Wee County is increasingly dependent upon Post Office facilities for our banking services.

However, the facilities that are currently available are not sufficient to support our communities and businesses in Clackmannanshire.

I have therefore written to the Post Office to highlight this issue with them, and request a meeting so we can try to address it at the earliest possible moment”
