Five Perthshire villages are set to benefit from a mobile Post Office van as of this month.
The new service has linked rural Perthshire communities, along with services in Fife.
Residents of Dunkeld, Spittalfield, Guildtown, Rait and Rhynd will all benefit from the scheme.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “The Mobile Outreach Service, whereby a nearby postmaster provides a service at a set time and location, is operated by the postmaster from Kennoway Post Office.
“A wide range of services are available, customers are able to collect benefits in cash using our everyday banking services or Post Office card account.”
In Dunkeld, the service will stop at North End Car Park on Atholl Street on Thursdays from 9.30am-10.30am and Fridays from 9.30am–10.30am.
Spittalfield will see the service stop at The Green on Thursdays from 11am-noon and it will be in the garage on Main Road, Guildtown, on Thursdays from 12.30– 1.30pm.
In the Carse of Gowrie, the service stops at Rait Antiques Centre on Fridays from 11.30am–12.30pm and on Main Road, Rhynd on Fridays from 1.30–2.30pm.
Roseanna Cunningham MSP welcomed the new service to Rhynd, a community which has been without a post office for some time.
She said: “The Mobile Service is a travelling post office aboard a specifically designed vehicle that brings Post Office services and retail products to communities without relying on fixed premises.
“Clearly, an hour a week is a far cry from a full time post office but it does at least mean that Post Office services have been restored to the community of Rhynd, in however limited a fashion.”
