A community has been "let down" as a post office has been temporarily closed for three months.
The post office in Mansell Road, Shoreham, was first closed on February 5 due to "unforeseen circumstances".
A sign has since reportedly appeared on the front of the shop which reads: "Closed. Staff not paid, community let down."
However, the Post Office has stated that the closure is temporary and it is "working hard" to restore the service.
Comments on a social media said the shop was "the heart of the community" and it was a "shame" it was closed.
Another person said it "used to be a great shop".
A spokeswoman for the Post Office said: “Mansell Road Post Office has been temporarily closed since February 5 due to unforeseen circumstances.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure and we are working hard to try to restore service to the community as soon as possible.
"In the interim, alternative branches include Southlands which is 0.5 miles away or Southwick, which is 1.1 miles away.”
