Impending interview

Post by vr6monkey »

After a couple of applications that ended up being for withdrawn vacancies, I have my interview tomorrow. Nervous and apprehensive, I've been pretty loyal with my previous employment over the years and interviews are something I don't have much experience of. Any I've had have usually been for jobs that were already mine lol.

I'm currently self employed, easy job, money not great, no real stress. I have to give part of my home away to it though, always seem to be on duty. Weekends off though!

Even with 25 years of retail and delivery experience I'm reading things on here and wonder if things are really that bad. My own postie says it's a great job with great colleagues, different DO though. Only time, and a possible offer will tell.

Anyways, thanks for the helpful posts everywhere, fingers crossed.

Good luck for tomorrow. Just be yourself & try to relax.

Don't read into all the negative comments on here too much. I enjoy it. There'll always be those that have issues & have something to say.

If you get the job (fingers crossed), treat it as your own experience & don't go in with other people's opinions weighing you down.

Thank you, hopefully I'll keep my pretty steady head and just be myself. Maybe experience will count for something, here's hoping.

Thanks again :)

I was in the same boat, 26 years in my last job and the interview I had for that one was more of a “this is what we do, when can you start?”.
Good luck, let us know how the interview goes.

Well, that's the interview over.

I'm terrible at interviews but the guy was really nice, led me onto questions in a good way. I felt comfortable and didn't panic, we had a couple of acquaintances in common too from the past which was nice. Asked about working processes at the end and got a tour of the DO which was pretty interesting.

Here's hoping.
