Interview on Thursday
Can anyone tell me what to expect for the interview on Thursday? I’ve heard that it’s becomd easier to get the job since it was privatised (I’m not sure how true this is). Can you also tell me what the job is like please?

Interview on Thursday
I've recently had an interview and I was told to be prepared and do research. That was great advice because it was not easy in my opinion. Lots of questions. Plenty of good advice on this forum though.Lawrencepa2014 wrote:Can anyone tell me what to expect for the interview on Thursday? Interview on Thursday
As Dezzy79 said lots of advice on here. Look up the star interview technique on google this may help. They will ask why you want to work for Royal Mail, health and safety. Also about how you’ve dealt with a situation ie, customer complaint or teamwork or improving a situation. For example, this was the problem, this was how I dealt with it and this was the outcome. It’s basically a point scoring exercise. They will ask what you would check on a vehicle, these are: fuel, lights, tyres, wipers, oil, handbrake, locks, seatbelts, bodywork, fluids.
Remember to take your required documents and photocopies, I also printed out the job description of the one I was applying for to take with me and the interviewer needed to refer to something in it as he couldn’t remember how man6 hours the contract was for ( not necessary but maybe earned me a brownie point!)
Good luck

How do you organise your post for the day?
I’m still at interview stage but curious just to see how you would organise the post in your bag for the day? Or how you would even know how to organise it? I’m looking for as much detail as possible because I’d like to hit the ground running and know what to expect if I get the job and turn up to my shift what I’m meant to do

Dependant on your hours you may just be expected to sort your parcels and "bag up" or even just pick the bags up and go out with your partner/alone.
A similar thread from earlier will hopefully help.

You don't need to worry about any of that for the interview, and even if you pass the interview and are offered a job, you're still looking at around a month or more until you start. It's not like they're gonna say 'Well done, you start Monday!' after your interview. There's a quite lengthy process to go through.Lawrencepa2014 wrote:I’m still at interview stage but curious just to see how you would organise the post in your bag for the day? As for how you organize the mail, it'll be showed to you during your first few days on the job. It's a fair amount to take in, but nothing particularly difficult. If you're being hired on a 28 hour contract, it will mostly be sorted by the time you start work. You'll just need to bag it up and then go out and deliver it.
