Before I quit my current job ...

Post by Naya79 »

Hi all,

Today I received an interview request for a Post(wo)man position in Northern Ireland. I applied 6 weeks or so ago, after being made redundant from a pretty good, however desk based job in marketing. I am very excited.

I fancied a change and I am tired of sitting down all day and I am a very fit and outdoorsy person.

I always wanted to be a post woman, since I was a girl, but I never applied before now.

I can't retrieve the info from the RM site on how many hours the job I'm being interviewed for is.

I think it was 25 hours a week. Does this sound right to you guys?

What are full time hours as a PostPerson, if that's what I'm targetting ( eventually)? 37.5? Or it doesn't exist?

Many thanks :)

At the moment full-time hours are 38 with paid breaks, the ambition is to get that down to 35 hrs.
25 hrs is a common part-time contract, full-time positions are scarce but it depends on the area.

Sorry to invade a thread but how many days does a 25 hour contract normally cover, 5 hours a day over 5 days?

Five days at 5 hrs is most common.
