Interview

Post by kittykat18 »

Hi everyone. I have an interview scheduled next Monday and haven’t received any emails at all about it. I only found out by logging into my profile on the Royal Mail site. I have read abit on here about documents being needed - can anyone please tell me what these are? Or a number to call etc to find out please?
If anyone has any tips they would be hugely appreciated too!
I’m abit nervous after reading about the management forcing overtime etc but I’m trying to tell myself that i will just have to make it clear that I although at times I can give that flexibility, when the little ones are at school, I do have to pick them up. I actually stopped a postie at the supermarket the other day to ask him about working there. He was pretty positive which made me feel better.

All forms of ID
Passport
Drivers license

Something with your national insurance number, I went on official government website and you can get a print at home document that is for display your NI number
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ing-ca5403" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Copy of Birth certificate

You might not need all these, but I just did it incase

I wore smart casual, dark jeans no holes, polo shirt and Cardigan

Interview was really basic

Why do you want to work at Royal mail? - fitness, interacting with public, being organised

Can you tell me when a customer was angry at you, and how did you calm the situation? - I worked in Tesco so that was easy to say

Can you tell me a time/moment where you had to be organised (or something along those lines)

They were really basic questions, I think about 6 or so

If you want, PM your email address I'll forward you my right to work email that explains what you need, from royal mail

Thank you both for your help. Had the interview this morning, and was so glad I had everything I needed despite not receiving the email.
I think it went quite well, the manager that interviewed me seemed nice. Just have to wait and see now.

Thank you everyone. I wasn’t sure how much I wanted the job before I went but I really do now so am keeping everything crossed that I get it. Hopefully I’m not waiting ages to hear although I’m not actually too hopeful of that! Xx

Unfortunately I had the email today to say I hadn’t been successful. I thought I’d interviewed pretty well but I am clearly not what they’re looking for. I have some theories as to a few things it could have been but had told myself if I didn’t get it, then it was fate and that I should carry on as I have the last 10 years, working from home and being around for my children with no worries about when they’re sick etc. I may apply again in a few years time once the smallest goes to school. Thanks again To the people that helped. I won’t be on here everyday now! :-) I hope you all settle well in (or carry on enjoying) the job. X
