Interview Tomorrow.. Can I wear...

Post by Theodore95 »

Hi!

I have an interview tomorrow but I don’t own a pair of trousers so I was wondering if I could get away with plain black jeans or should I not bother turn up as I will look like an idiot.

Thanks!

And you left it until late in the evening on the day before your interview to think about what you're going to wear?

Wear a skirt, I'm sure that will be ok.

Don't cancel. Wear black jeans if that's all you have.

Most posties look scruffy when they've been in the job for a while, because the quality of the uniform is not good and it soon deteriorates.

Just go and do your best and don't worry about how you're dressed.

Chances are that whoever interviews you won't be smartly dressed anyway.

Alright I will go but I do feel bad if I’m being honest! I have thought about going to NEXT in the morning but it doesn’t open until 9am and my interview is at 10am. (I had to chose from 3 time slots)

Will I be alone or surrounded by others wearing suits making me feel even worse!

If you are worried then go to Asda or some other big supermarket where you can get some cheap trousers as they will be open from 7am (or even 24 hrs) so you should have plenty of time (as long as you read this post in time!)

I wore shirt and trousers to my interview and decided against wearing a suit as thought that would be too formal. Other candidates around me wore a mix of clothes from casual to being fully suited up and it did not seem to be an issue but I would make some effort personally. If you genuinely are not able to get some then still attend the interview as the interviewing manager may not care either way.
