Think you are due 30min break if you are working 5 hours per day.

Tricky one. As you don’t work 6 hours or more there is no legal obligation for you to be provided with a break. See this;

https://www.gov.uk/rest-breaks-work" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However you can’t be treated any differently from anyone else in the company so going with Royal Mails policy your entitled to be paid for 30 minutes break per day, they can tell you when to take it however, which can be at the end of your shift as you don’t work 6 hours. See Royal Mails break times below;

https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communi ... 36&t=22175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You are entitled to a contractual break at Royal Mail if you work more than 2 hours 30 minutes (or expected to)

Once you exceed 6 hours work a day you have a statutory right to a break of at least 20 minutes. At Royal Mail, this is enhanced to 30 minutes or more and is paid. This is part of your contractual agreement with RM so they can't refuse you it.

Not having received your contract is irrelevant, you still have the same rights as everyone else. A break at the start or the end is pointless. Your right about that.

Yes, you’re entitled as stated above.
I have always worked through mine and claimed it as overtime although this is frowned upon by the CWU. As a part time member of staff, I am within my rights to do this & like to add the extra 2.5 hours a week to my wages!
