Hi all,

I am currently on the waiting list, as per the email informing me that I am, it also states not to complete the online and that I wouldn’t need to attend an interview again. Sooooo I applied for other roles, some at different delivery offices two of which were withdrawn and then just right now I have received an email stating that I have been unsuccessful as I had not completed the online as per the required deadline. I have contacted the myapplication@roymail.com numerous times informing them that I am a waiting list candidate etc never received a reply etc. I also have 2 other applications ongoing which I have not completed the tests for.

Honestly gutted about this, after leaving the Navy I felt this would be the job for me and now it looks increasingly unlikely to happen. :arrrghhh

did you use the waiting list link to apply for these jobs?

there should have been a link in the email stating you were on the waiting list and you need to use this to apply for new positions (it is a link to the RM Jobs page but includes a tag to identify you as a waiting list candidate)

There was no link in the email and a few others on here have said they didn’t have one either and they were successful in their waiting list application.

Had this issue too. No link in my email. I contacted the depot who out me on waiting list. Said they'd call me back twice and never did. Feel like a prat.

It’s genuinely gutting and you can literally do nothing about it either, I doubt the myapplication@royalmail.com address is even manned.

Hi there, I'm EX navy too and joined after my service but that was about 1990. I would just do the test again for every job applied for no matter how much a pain it is. When I joined RM after being a LSM(M) in the mob the post office always took on EX servicemen and women before civilians in most cases but it's not quite like this nowadays. I hope you get the job and settle into civy street. :thumbup :thumbup

I was put on waiting list and was rejected from my applications, one for not completing tests when the email said there was no requirement to now I was on list.
I contacted hr and after about 5 days got a response and job offer with about an hour of them saying there was a mistake.
So don't sit waiting, go chase hr.

Royal Mail is full of Matelots, Pongos and yes Penguins (I was a guin) so keep at it, sometimes it feels as though you never let the forces.

Hello everyone, thought I would give yours an update of my current situation. Well I am pleased to say that I received an email asking me to complete the security checks, which I am pretty confident of doing. :thumbup

For those who are experiencing similar problems to myself, I emailed myapplication@royalmail.com , hrsc.rrf@royalmail.com and contacted the Royal Mail Careers page on Facebook via messenger, who then took all my details and said they would then investigate further. So I am thinking they might have had a hand in this also, so maybe give that avenue a try as well.

TrueBlueTerrier, I’m glad to hear it, miss the old forces banter.

Ps.

great news MT9018.

the whole recruitment process can be frustrating especially at this time of year with xmas recruitment slowing things down even more. i had my interview mid-august last year and it was mid-november before i started. the security checking stage can drag on a bit too but just keep the faith
