ADVICE PLS! 3 weeks, not heard back from Interview

Post by beckylh »

Hi,

I had an interview at the Derby office for Postperson with driving on 19th July. I have read on this forum and other places that Royal mails recruitment process is notoriously slow, but I am losing hope as each day goes by and it is very frustrating to hear absolutely nothing. I think my interview went well and I would really like to get the job, however I’m on day 19 now out of the 7-10 days they said they’d let me know by and I’m beginning to think I should just accept that I haven’t got a chance now :(

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do? Should I call the delivery office and ask for the manager that interviewed me or is that a bad idea? I have already emailed the my application email address several days ago and haven’t had a response yet.

Has anyone else experienced this?

P.S I am female and 24 years old, do RM employ many young females as I rarely see a postwoman where I live. Just another thought.. :/

I had my interview August 2017 and it took just over 2 weeks for me to hear back. Initially I was unsuccessful but put on a waiting list and had a phone call a couple of weeks later offering me a role in the same delivery office. It was mid November by the time I started though (yes the process is slow!)

I think at this time of year with school holidays the process can be slower than normal so hopefully you will hear soon.

We have lots of women posties at our office of all ages so don't worry about that.

Good luck!

Hi, it took just under 7 weeks for me to hear after my interview that I had been succesful. You could try emailing again as it seems a bit hit and miss as to whether you get a response. Good luck !!

I'm also feeling the same as I had my interview 2 weeks today and have not heard anything! The email link on the RM page that shows the interview I had does not work so cannot email them. I'm wondering if it is likely my application has been unsuccessful as I have just moved back to UK after living in Spain for 7 years and so I had my Spanish driving license (it's been law in Spain since 2015 that permanent residents have to change to Spanish license or I would have just kept my UK one). I didn't have time before interview to change license as DVLA said it could take up to 3 weeks, so I photocopied my Spanish one and took it and original along to interview and explained the situation. I don't know whether to start applying for other jobs elsewhere but don't know how much longer I should give it. Would I have had a rejection email before now if I was definitely unsuccessful?

Thanks for the replies, finally heard back today, I’m on the waiting list, very frustrating though as I applied for another delivery office ‘in the mean time’ and wasn’t even given an interview for it as I was told I am still in the interview process for the other one still!
