Good morning everyone
I am currently going through the waiting period for DBS checks before I am contacted for my start date!
I have a question about the working hours. The job advertisement says 25 hours 9-2pm. It also says “one in six” working five weeks then having one week off.
Now my question is is that one week off using holiday allowance. Or is it literally a week of no work where I don’t get paid for a week?!
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks!

Contract question
Good morning,
I am in the same position as you, currently waiting for dbs checks to come back and the position i have applied for is the same hours as yours, working 6 days per week for 5 weeks with 6th week off. My understanding is that it isnt taken from your holiday entitlement and you will paid as normal for your week off.

Thanks for replying
That would make sense actually - as it’s a 25 hour week contract but if you’re working six days then the extra day a week adds up to a week off every six weeks perhaps?
Just a bit worried of having one week without no money!

Excactly, you will actually be working 30 hours, paid for 25 then paid for the missing 5 hours from each week on your week off

Some people also decide to work their 6th week which will classed as overtime
On overtime, there are 3 rates
Up to 38/39 hours - SSPR -
First 10 hours overtime - the highest rate
Beyond 10 hours which reduces slightly
There is also a Scheduled Attendance rate which is contractural overtime even then in most cases its filled by volunteers.
