Hi,
I applied for a Postman job, and didn't quite make it, but was placed on the waiting list.
I then applied for another that came up locally, and I've been offered the role pending checks, good news :)
However, the advert said it was a Permanent job, and my email now states it is a 6 month fixed term contract.
I've tried to email the HRSC RRF mailbox but it's not going through.
So my question really is....is 6 months actually 6 months? What are the chances of being made Permanent at the end of it?
and does anyone have the correct email address?
Cheers

I asked the same question a few days ago and was told by TrueBlueTerrier that 6 months is the norm but if you don't do anything stupid (stealing/dumping mail etc) and stick it out then chances are it'll be extended. There's also an agreement apparently that the maximum they can do is 2 years before you're permanent bit a lot get offered permanent before that.
