Contract query

Post by Angwyn »

Got my contract yesterday and whilst it states how many hours per week it does not state from/to times per day. It reads "your hours of work will be allocated by your manager".
Hmmmm little bit concerned :confused
The email with the formal offer does state the times.
Also apart from the original job ad I haven't seen 'rotating day off' mentioned again
So I'm really not sure what to expect now lol guess I should call the advice centre

Ive got a query aswell. My contract says £371.07 per week (pro rata for part time). Subject to performance of your work and good conduct, your pay may be increased in accordance with your pay scale or range. Im only contracted for 27.5 hours a week at a rate on £9.51. I take it this is a misprint or am i missing something??? :arrrghhh any help would be great

Hi Steviep15 :wave
I get that bit  371.07 is for 39hrs/full time @ 9.51ph, pro rata means you get the same hourly rate but for your part time hours, not sure why it's worded that way. I probably haven't described that very well so if anyone else can please do :chuckle

Hi Angwyn

from your original post. The part timers at our place joined following adverts saying either 0830 or 0900 start, but they don't do those hours. Those on a 30 hour contract start 6 hours before the finish time of the full timers - so that both in a pair finish at the same time. In our case we have different finish times on different days so the part timers have different start and finish times each day. It varies from office to office, and the contract will be a standard template for everyone regardless of the situation at each office.

Again based on our place, your day off will depend on the duty that you are doing - you get the day off that that duty has for the week. If you are on a fixed duty your day off will rotate through the week: Monday one week, Tuesday the next, then Wednesday etc etc. If you are moved around duties your day off will be more 'random' from week to week.
