I have applied for three positions and have sadly been unsuccessful in them all. However before applying I am very sure the application said they would give feedback if unsuccessful yet they have given none so I am unsure what to change about my applications if more jobs become available to apply for in the future.
My first two just said I was sadly unsuccessful this time but should try again when it comes up and my final one said "On this occasion due to the high number of applicants you have not been short-listed. As you have successfully completed your on-line assessment we would like to keep you on our database for a short period in case further interviews are to be held for this position."
What does the final one exactly mean anyway? Does it mean my application was fine but they chose others first? Just curious as I have no way of telling my something is wrong with my applications or I am just unlucky/they feel they found better candidates. I will keep trying though, just slightly disappointed! Thanks!

Sorry to hear that.
My experience is that they appoint those who live nearest the Delivery Office.
Do you live some distance away ?

I live nearby to all of them haha.
I altered my CV a bit but since I didn't know why I was declined I am unsure what else to do. Maybe I was just unlucky though, but I'll try if another one shows up.

HI
Think you were very unlucky last time as the people who get shortlisted is based on how quickly the online test is completed and the quickest 10 or whatever how many people they want to interview progress to this stage. Your name is kept on file though so they can call you up to progress you to the next stage if nobody is suitable from the first batch of people who did progress.
Hope it works out for you.

Hi
I have applied for 4 positions and been unsuccessful after testing complete, not sure what to do differently myself, I worked for Royal mail for almost 10 years in a distribution centre which ended in 2004, so with that experience I still can't get an interview, I was wondering myself if it's because I don't live in the local area of the positions I have applied for and would have to travel further... even though for one of those (Preston) I stated I would be relocating. Frustrating.
