Overqualified?
I'm just about to finish University, I know some companies don't like taking on people who are highly qualified and I'm just wondering if I should mention my University degree in my application. Thanks.

If you get the job you'll find that many of your colleagues have degrees as well as other qualifications and experience in all types of sectors. I doubt very much that someone fresh out of uni with a bachelor degree would be considered over qualified.

Thanks for the replies. I tried applying tonight but unfortunately the website wasn't responding or letting me submit. After awhile it then stated the position has been filled. Annoying as hell because I imagine midnight was the cut off for applications and I tried before midnight to submit. Grrr..long shot but is there anyway to get in contact with Royal Mail and plead my case and hopefully be considered for the job? I was thinking customer service but I have a feeling I would be told tough luck and theres nothing they can do.

There's a couple of lessons in life for you then...don't leave things to the last minute and don't ever apply to RM for any sort of job. If you have a 2:2 or better you could apply for the graduate entry scheme but would you really want to spend years in some shabby office sorting out complaints from old men about their shoes needing replacing or their partner farts too much all the while being accused of knowing nothing and doing even less?

Lollll, I guess you either work for RM or have done in the past and hated it? What would you class as a 'proper job'? Also, this job wasn't planned to be permanent, just a summer jobTman wrote:There's a couple of lessons in life for you then...don't leave things to the last minute and don't ever apply to RM for any sort of job. T man gave you ruthlessly honest advice.
You won't even get a start date by summer applying now.
