Waiting list
Went for my interview last Monday felt it had gone well only to get the dreaded unable to offer vacancy this time but there were higher scoring candidates but I did pass the interview . I've been put on a 3 month waiting list, was wondering if anyone can give me an idea how this works and what chance do you reckon of getting a job pretty soon from

Waiting list
I was placed on waiting list last september for 3 months nothing came up local ,once it expired a job did come up i applied from scratch online test again etc and have just been interviewed..however i was informed at the end of the interview that waiting list candidates take priority and delivery officer manager has no say in who he takes on its down to HR so good and bad news he said basically good news being i will be on a waiting list again to apply and get direct job offers for other sorting offices if they come up !!. really dont believe this is good practice getting hopes up for an interview when they have a waiting list who will always come first !!

Even I 13 years ago came from a waiting list, so the chances are fairly good. A little bit of advice if you are used to a sedentary lifestyle start going on long walks and improving your general fitness. According to a story some time ago we are the fittest workers in the UK https://www.virgin.com/news/postmen-nam ... st-workers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;steviep15 wrote:Hopefully that's happens to me, job would have suited perfect. I was the same, a week later I got a call to offer me the job I had applied for. Think once your on the waiting list there's a high probability they'll contact you if anything comes up, however best to sign up to email alerts for any offices you'd be willing to work in just in case. I was offered the job in my particular office before it was even re-advertised, however I was still searching on RM careers twice a day. Good luck. ;)

So it appears that jobs are most likely offered to those on the waiting list ,cannot understand why interviews are held when jobs are already taken by these candidates..once again I will be on a 3 month list .only chance of getting job offer from interview is if there are no waiting list candidates interested
unfortunately last time I was placed on it nothing local come up..another interview another list ! Least do manager was honest and told me how it works ..

Waiting list
Well after being put on a 3 month waiting list in February for 3 months which ran out in may I never heard anything from Royal Mail. So last week another job came up in another delivery office 25 mins from which I applied for before through the link Royal Mail sent me after last interview (Cheeky). Got sent the assessments and I completed them again and got an email today sayin I was successful and they would be in contact with a start date after security checks had been completed. Not sure whether to take it with a pinch of salt tho . Any one had this before or give any advice

If they are doing the security checks then they are serious, they cost money so they only do them on people they intend employing.
