Had my interview today about my coach

Post by Decpassat06 »

Hello again, just thought ide write an update to yesterday's post. I had an interview this morning with my manager and he wasn't much use at all, basically saying I have to put up with him until after xmas. I went to my post and he was clearly not letting things settle or prepared to move forwards on the matter (not that I wanted to but lets face it I had no choice) I caught another manager walking by and asked him is the rep in, he said "why whats wrong? cumon, lets go have a chat its ok" so I spoke to him and he got another manager to come in and take over, my coach had the union rep in with him with his interview and he said "I raised my voice but cant remember if I swore" the rep overheard me with this other manager (who was basically telling me the same thing) and the rep walked in and asked if i wanted him to stay, of course i said yes and told the rep my story (which this manager didnt bother to ask and wouldn't listen) the rep said "your not going back out with him, don't worry", the new manager quickly agreed, my manager then walked in and the new manager said "hes no going out with him again, and thats my final decision" which my manager was not happy about at all. So they moved him of the duty and left me on with another guy, he has had an official warning and warned not to approach me in an aggressive manner again. Thanks to the reps support, and another managers intervention, i got a positive result and I can now get on with my job, however my old partner isnt getting over it so easily, he wont let it lie and he makes me unbearably anxious when I go into work as hes really really.....really p****d.

Good for you. He behaved like that towards you because he thought there would be no repercussions; maybe he's done it to others before and got away with it.

Thanks for the update. I'm very glad that you were not forced to work with him, nor will be again it seems.

Remember to keep cool and calm - no matter what he does or says in future as you are bound to be near him at some point, even if not on paired duty with him - I've seen posties totally flip after being treated unreasonably and they just end up making it worse for themselves.

I always keep a pair of headphones in a jacket pocket so that I can just plug into my phone and mentally remove myself from a bad work environment at any time if I need to, even if I cannot physically!

Glad you have sorted that out. There's no need for that kind of behaviour. It's always best to go to your union rep that's what's you pay your money for them for. Just carry on doing your job & probably best not to give him any eye contact in future. Let's hope he has learnt his lesson.
