Since being unsuccessful for the job the other week I have expressed my interest in two roles via email just as instructed by the email I got.
I've not had any reply or confirmation that I have been put forward for these roles, and they don't show up on my candidate profile as jobs I've applied for, and they have now been removed from the careers website so I can't even apply in the normal way through the site.
I have emailed again asking if I could have confirmation I have been put forward for these roles.
Is this normal? Do they just add you to the sift list then only get in touch if they have an offer?
I don't like being kept in the dark really, and just a short reply to say I'd been added to the candidates list would have been great.

Applying via email - Waiting List Candidate
The recruitment process in Royal Mail is glacial so keep the faith, hopefully they will make contact at some point. However, check spam folders, some of the filters send RM ones straight there.

Highly unimpressed now.
I've had a reply regarding a job I expressed interest in via email on the 1st June, only to be asked to check the reference as she can't find it.
As I suspected, it's taken them two weeks to respond and the roles I've expressed interest in have now been removed from the careers site.
What's the point in the waiting list if it doesn't even do what it's supposed to do?
It's left a bit of a sour taste if I'm honest, and is a little bit of an eye opener to how you can be treated

Im in the same boat atm ive also applied for 2 jobs through emails and not heard a thing back, i dont understand the list at all... I was under the impression that if you were on the list you were fastracked for one of the next available jobs in the area as the initial checks had already been completed but i feel like ive been forgotten about. Hope you hear something soon im also finding it hard not knowing where i stand.

I got a reply yesterday after 2 weeks after sending a 1st waiting list applicant e-mail.....
"Hello
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, the vacancy has already been scheduled for interviewing."
So why do they ask for waiting list applicants to apply for any other jobs we are interested in and why wait 2 weeks to respond??

I start soon after being a waiting list candidate. I sent my first email pointing out which job I wanted and then after 48 hours that wasn't acknowledged so I sent another which was replied to within 24 hours. I think it's worth pestering.

I agree with sponge bob (above) I seem to have sent email after email. I had an email last week to say I wasn't found on the system so I got in touch with the DO where I had my interview, they told me that all my doc's have been sent to Sheffield so to wait for contact from them. Low and behold an hour after that phone call I had an email thanking me for all my emails and asking in which job I would most llike to apply for out of the three I'd emailed. I've emailed back today with my preference so fingers crossed I'll hear something soon now lol....
