I know of someone who yesterday through Manpower had an interview at Royal Mail whoever interviewed them didn't ask the candidate their name, and also asked if they left their last job through ill health, also the candidate doesn't have any visible 'signs' of ill heath?
Isn't that an indirect way of asking the candidate about their health?, isn't that prohibited?,
to me that person hasn't been treated failry?

Before you are offered a job, you cannot be asked health or disability related questions – including how many days' sickness you had in your previous employment (although there are limited exceptions where it is a necessary requirement of the job).
After you have been offered a job, health inquiries can be made, but only to ensure that there are no obstacles to being able to carry out your role. Your employer cannot ask for a medical report on you without your knowledge or consent. http://www.theguardian.com/money/blog/2 ... -interview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
